My hard-won Qantas Frequent Flyer Lifetime Gold membership performed brilliantly. With Emirates I was able to choose aisle seats on every leg, got 46kg luggage allowance (my extra large suitcase weighed 22.5kg), boarded with business class to get my bag in the overhead before everyone else, priority luggage (which worked at Nice Airport), a greeting from the cabin manager, and access to the Qantas and Emirates lounges. Terrific.
