  • Day 19, Friday, Amalfi

    My throat and chest are still itching where that bug stung me last Monday.

    Today was “Walk of the Gods” day. Since the walk is only 8.8km, and mostly downhill from Bomerano to Positano, it couldn’t take more than 3 hours. I had plenty of time, as long as I wasn’t walking too late in the afternoon against the sun. That didn’t look like a problem today, the Gods had conspired to make it rain. So I decided to have breakfast at the hotel.

  • Day 18, Thursday, Amalfi

    I took the ferry to Capri today, and found the way up to Anacapri on foot that I couldn’t find in 2003. Then, to the top of the island.

  • Day 17, Wednesday, Amalfi

    Breakfast in the dining room of the hotel Pisacane in Sapri. Very good, but no fresh bread rolls, just yesterday’s sliced bread. And like almost every place, prosciutto crudo, but not cotto. When I was checking out, the Boxer was still there, dozing on his bed. Has he moved since last night? Oh, yes, he doesn’t sleep here at night.  (more…)

  • Day 16, Tuesday, Sapri

    Laundry night again. I’m in the most beautiful place, Sapri, about 150km south of Salerno. Once again it was chosen only on the basis that it was a 2 hour ride after a late lunch and it was time to book a hotel.  (more…)
